Infra-red Stenter Pre-heaters for Faster Drying and Conditioning of Fabric

Enhance the Performance of Your Existing Stenter!

Stenters are used extensively in the dying and finishing industry and give many years of good service.

By fitting an electric infra-red pre-heater, the working flexibility of the basic stenter is enhanced, the efficiency is greatly improved and increased customer orders can be met.

Easily Retrofitted

Infra-red stenter pre-heaters are stand-alone items of equipment.  They are relatively easy to retrofit to the front end of an existing stenter with minimum disruption to production.

Infra-red Drying
Infra-red radiant heating represents a clean energy efficient drying technique.  The radiant transfer of energy heats the fabric directly without the need to warm up large volumes of air.

The infra-red equipment is an ‘open’ design but the absence of hot air means that the temperature of the factory is not greatly effected. The simple construction and absence of many moving parts and combustion products give reliability and longevity.

Infra-red heating equipment is very adaptable.  Providing there is enough room at the front of the stenter, additional units can be added to suit any future requirement.

Benefits

The main benefit of making this relatively simple modification is that drying times are reduced so output capacity can be boosted.

There are also many other benefits:
  •   Variable width heating across the web.
  •   Response time (heat-up time) of the infra-red elements is a matter of seconds.
  •   Pre-heater is automatically controlled through interlocking with the conveyor.
  •   A variety of types of shrinkage conditioning specifications can be met
  •   Energy to be saved by switching off during even short production breaks.

Exact performance gains depend on the particular material, but based on recent projects, reductions in drying time of up to 30% can be expected.
